Remember to say why you are writing, add a few questions and say what has happened to you recently. The letter or email should be at least 10 sentences long and should be completed by Friday 6th December.

Once this is complete we will be printing off and putting all of the Purple Mash work into your homework folders. I'm sure your parents are eager to see it all.

English Homework – Monday 4th November

Your homework this week is to write a story, which involves fireworks. It can be an adventure, funny story or even a historical story based on Guy Fawkes. It should be approximately 100 words long and should include lots of exciting vocabulary and use capital letters and full stops correctly.

To log onto Purple Mash, go to the school website at www.stgwladysbargoed.com and click on the Purple Mash button on the bottom left. The children can log in with their own username or year 3 for the username and password. Click on Creative Tools and 2write.

Remember to save it into the 3T folder. This also works on an iPad but it is easier to type on a PC or laptop.

If you do not have access to a computer, this can be written by hand but should be presented in a creative way, using excellent writing and neat presentation.

I look forward to seeing all of your wonderful ideas.

This is due in by Friday 8th November.

Mr Timbrell

Half Term

I hope you have all had a good start to the half term and that the weather hasn't affected you.

Just a reminder that the homework is to find a book that you love and prepare a short presentation on it. You should have rehearsed your presentation and be confident in explaining details such as the author, book title, your favourite part and character and most importantly, your reasons why.

I look forward to seeing all of your hard work. It is not essential, but you could create resources such as handouts or a PowerPoint to aid your presentation, but it is important that you do not read your work. This is a speaking, not reading task.

Africa Presentation Homework

For Homework, we would like the children to create an item to be presented to the class on our next topic of Africa. This could be a:

· PowerPoint

· Poster

· Leaflet

· Booklet

· Story

· Model

· Or anything else that you can imagine.

The item should be high quality and reflect the high standards we expect in school. Try and aim for the quality of something that you would buy in a shop. Think carefully about how to grab people's attention and how to present in an imaginative way,

.

We would love to hear that the children have practised presenting to you as this rehearsal time is important for them. The children will be self assessing their oracy skills using a recording of the presentation and so the more practice they get, the better they will be.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing the presentations.
