Half Term Homework

Your homework for half term is to create a fireworks safety poster on Purple Mash. If you don’t have access to Purple Mash, you can make one on A4 but it must be presented well. Year 4 can make one on their computer and upload their work onto Google Drive if they know how. To log onto Purple Mash the children can use their own logon or year 3 for the username and password. They need to save their work in the Fireworks Safety folder which is in 34T. Have a good half term everyone

Homework

Your homework for the next week is to create an item on Roald Dahl to celebrate Roald Dahl day on Thursday.

If you can I would like you to create something on Purple Mash that could go into your Learning Logs. Quizzes and a the activities on 2DIY work really well. Remember to save your work into the Roald Dahl folder.

Celts Homework

Next week we will be writing a report on the Celts. We began our research in school but I would like you to continue this research at home and present it in any way you like.

You could use Purple Mash, create a piece of work or upload a video or presentation to Hwb+. I look forward to seeing the variety of documents.

This is due in on Friday 16th May. All of you had spellings today, we will be working on them over the next few weeks in Read Write Inc and the test will be on Friday 23d May.

Next week

What a few weeks. You all worked incredibly hard for the tests and I am very proud of you all.

We will be back to normal from next week with spellings given out every fortnight and homework given out every Monday. This will continue to be projects so that you can show your creativity. Every other Friday there will be a spelling test so that we have spent two weeks learning spellings and how to use them.

This week

I hope you've all had a good week and I look forward to being back on Monday. I will be giving you more homework on Monday but for this weekend could you find a picture of a coal miner or mine and create your own version. This could be using charcoal, pencils, a collage or something creative. We will be using these to inspire our work next week. Everyone who brings this in on Monday will get 10 merits. Make sure they are good quality as I will be using some on a display.

World Book Day

Don't forget that you can dress up as your favourite character on World Book Day. You can also bring in your favourite book as we will be doing some work on this to celebrate the day. If you bring in a book, make sure your name is inside it. We wouldn't want your favourite book getting mixed up with the school's books.

English Advert Homework

Your English homework this week is to write an advert for an old toy. What are the benefits of it and why should people buy it? Use the prompts on the side to help you.

 

The adverts should be written on Purple Mash using the Mbay template. You will find the template under Themes -> Persuasive Writing -> MBay.

Homework This Week

This week your homework is to create a game using 2DIY on the theme of giants. Who's game will be chosen to be featured on the website? Make sure the images are high quality and the game is challenging but can be completed. Save the game in the Giant Game folder on Purple Mash

Don't forget you now have new usernames. If you have any problems with it, use the year 3 username and password.

If you do not have access to the internet, you need to make a quiz resource on giants. This could be about a book or about a poem or story you find. You could write out a piece of writing and ask questions on it.

Help!

Yesterday I attended a maths course where I was shown amazing new resources and games. These games are very simple but take a long time to make. If you could stay even half an hour tomorrow (Thursday) morning to help cut out the games I would really appreciate it. As a thank you there will be plenty of tea coffee biscuits and cakes on hand. Homework

This week's English homework is to produce a piece of writing on Jack and the Beanstalk

You can write a poem, newspaper, diary, letter or rewrite the story, but it must be a piece of extended writing and not just images and a few words.

You can use any resource on Purple Mash or create a well made piece of writing on paper.
